Stilla is hiring an Instrument Software Architect, whose main mission will be to lead the software development of Stilla’s new instruments.

Our ideal candidate:
• Must have at least 10 years of experience in Software/Firmware development and Software/Firmware architecture
• Has a master 2 level / engineering degree.
• Has one or more successful experiences taking part in the development of an In-Vitro Diagnostic instrument
• Has knowledges in firmware, robotics, instrument automation & GUI software
• Has a good knowledge of quality & regulatory standards in the field, ex. ISO 13485,
IVDD or IVDR, IEC 62304, 21 CFR Part 11
• Know how to manage internal software development teams, as well as external development partners
• Has preferentially some knowledges in C++, C#, Microsoft Visual Studio and GitLab
• Has a Team spirit, with excellent communication skills
• Is pro-active, autonomous, and rigorous
• Likes to interact with multi-disciplinary teams
• Must speak French and English fluently

Missions for the Instrument Software Architect

The Instrumentation Software Architect will manage the software development on new instrument projects and on existing product evolutions. He / She ensures that instrument software meet user quality requirements, while respecting project planning, regulatory and resources constraints.

  1. Define the instruments software architecture & specifications
    • Participate in the identification of user needs and use cases for the instruments.
    • Participate in the functional analysis of instruments products and the definition of their specifications.
    • Define the architecture and software specifications to meet user needs and product specifications, while considering the constraints of cost, time, and quality of the project.

  2. Manage the software development of Stilla’s new instruments
    • With the Project Manager, structure the software development plan by identifying the resource requirements and the development parts to be outsourced or internalized.
    • With the Project Manager, define development priorities.
    • Be the key interlocutor of the Firmware & Software development external partners involved in the projects.
    • Define the software development environment, rules, and good practices.
    • Manage the product backlog.
    • Manage internal and/or external software development team in Agile / Scrum mode.
    • Report to the project team the progress of software development and associated expenses.
    • Produce appropriate documentation to meet the regulatory constraints.
    • Write code
