Descripción del puesto

Choco provides a centralized platform connecting restaurants and suppliers. The result is better communication, simplified logistics, and - here comes the big one - less food waste. Our aim is to contribute to a transparent, sustainable and waste-free global food chain by 2030.

With technology at the core of our work, our product designers are driven by quality. Our chat-based ordering app has already changed the game for thousands of restaurants and suppliers across the globe, but there is much more work to be done. And that’s where we need your help. If you’re looking to be at the intersection of purpose and innovation, we’d love to hear from you.

Meet your team

Our design team is deeply embedded within our product teams, which include engineers, product managers, UX researchers, QA, analysts. The design team ensures a coherent experience throughout all the touch-points across the customer journey. The UX Writer reports to the VP Design, Katharina Birkenbach and collaborates closely with product and marketing teams.

As UX Writer, you will create and evolutionize Choco’s tone of voice in and around the products. You will shape the personality of the product at all stages of its development lifecycle. This includes owning and monitoring the localization process of 14 languages across both app and web-based platforms.

As a culture-first company, we believe in the power of in-person collaboration. We look forward to working with you from our office in Berlin.

What you’ll do

  • Establish the UX writing discipline at Choco, defining tone of voice and mentoring 1 other writer
  • Create clear, intriguing and succinct copy for our in-app content, owning brand messaging
  • Develop and implement style guides and content strategy, enabling product teams to create content on the fly
  • Understand and empathize how our language emotionally affects our users, through testing, research and iteration
  • Collaborate with product teams including designers, UX researchers, product owners and engineers evangelizing the brand voice

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Content Strategy, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Human-Centered Design or other area(s) of relevant focus
  • 5+ years' experience writing for digital, web and mobile products
  • Passionate about language and detail, motivated and enthusiastic about creating quality content
  • Strong understanding of user flows, UX/UI principles and UX best practices
  • Creative flexibility, adjusting tone of voice dependent on the audience and messaging
  • Experience translating complex concepts and processes into relatable, human terms
  • Experience managing the localization of a digital product and implementing global initiatives in local markets
  • Native-level written English, a 2nd language of German, Spanish or French is favorable
  • Previous relevant experience in food and hospitality, financial services, and/or a B2B industry
