We are now looking for an ambitious and hands-on Data Scientist to join our team and build with us the Operating System that will help cities and transportation services thrive in the mobility revolution. As a Data Scientist you will work on exciting geo and mobility data mining topics, as well as explore and apply new machine learning algorithms to real-world urban problems. Your skills will be precious in supporting cities and transport operators toward more liveable streets.

🎯 Your missions :

You will have the opportunity to improve transportation research using state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms. You will be involved in R&D projects using both machine learning expertise and project management skills.

You will be involved in projects with cities, transportation partners, open-source software foundations, both in Europe and the US

As an expert or a leader on our external projects you will:

• Collaborate with other members of Vianova to deliver these projects
• Discuss with cities, transport operators or other clients to frame projects (what is the urban planning or mobility question ? which data could we use to answer it ?) and monitor them
• Analyze mobility datasets using machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques
• Build artificially intelligent predictive analytics models to anticipate user demand for transportation services and their potential impact on the curb
• Write scientific papers and project reports
• Participate in our internal R&D, creating new machine learning algorithms tailored to mobility intelligence and geospatial data science

As a project manager for the external projects you own, you will:

• Be responsible for the delivery of one or multiple engagements in parallel
• Manage the project scope, team, planning and deliverables
• Ensure user and client satisfaction, build and sustain relationships with senior executives

About you:

We are looking for someone with:

• Degree in Data Sciences, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Knowledge and experience with machine learning: you have already achieved projects with real-world data and are familiar with libraries such as Scikit-Learn
• 3+ years experience programming in Python and comfortable using APIs as well as able to produce one with the support of the technical team
• Ideally, previous experience of teamwork on projects involving geographical data and/or implementing solutions for business
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical reasoning and algorithmic skills for interpreting mobility and geo data
• Problem solving oriented, enthusiastic to work on strong technical challenges in a fast-paced environment
