We’re growing rapidly and looking for a talented Innovation Technologist

Taster is seeking an ambitious Innovation Technologist to join the London office, who will manage the operations and logistics to bring a product from recipe development to market - ensuring the product is built for scalability across multiple markets.

What responsibilities we’re looking for in this role

  • Work with the innovation chef to translate recipes and concepts into scalable and repeatable products that can be replicated successfully by 100s of franchise partners across multiple markets

  • Capture all technical recipe and product information and create key product spec documents to manage product quality

  • Optimising ingredients and procedures to minimize human inaccuracies without compromising taste or experience

  • Monitor and benchmark competitor activities, category trends and consumer habits, recommending plans and actions to capture opportunities

  • This role will have project ownership of some key innovation projects from ideation to launch. They will own the innovation goals, the concept, define the project musts and wants and manage key trade offs (formulation, packaging, commercial, brand)

  • Support innovation project P&Ls

  • Support local market assessment and oversee forecasting assumptions / size of prize


Your prior experience & requirements:

  • Degree in food science or similar discipline is required

  • Experience in food manufacturing and product development is essential

  • Ability to speak french, spanish, german or dutch desirable but not essential

  • 1-2 years professional experience

  • Commercial orientation

  • Numerically literate

  • Basic level kitchen skills

  • Highly organised with a great attention to detail

  • Ability to assess and identify consumer behaviours and trends

  • Time management skills and able to work to tight deadlines

  • Identifying any problems that arise in the development stage as well as resolving them quickly- while maintaining a level head

  • Collaborative and able to work with key stakeholders to develop and adapt existing recipes to maintain or improve taste, texture, quality and cost

  • Able to present facts and ideas clearly and accurately

  • Have a real passion for food and possess a creative mind-set to channel your imagination
