The position

Job description

As the System Integrator for this project, you will play a critical role in managing the deployment and operations of systems deployed in the government's commercial cloud environment. This position requires technical expertise in cloud technologies, in scripting and integration, and a good understanding of government regulations and compliance standards. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of our cloud-based systems while adhering to strict government guidelines.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Deployments and integration:

 Deploy new releases of the software in the government environments.
Work with developers and product owners to ensure smooth integration of the latest deployment.
Conduct technical configuration changes as required for new releases.
Participate in testing and troubleshooting of new deployments in QA and Production environments.
Liaise with third parties to set up new data links if required, including firewall openings and testing.
Manage interaction with the Client and with the government cloud provider for topics related to deployments.
If required, develop scripts to facilitate integration of different IT services or systems.

Operations and Maintenance:
The systems to be maintained are deployed on the government’s cloud infrastructure, but the base infrastructure layer is managed by the vendor appointed by the Client.
Your role will be to ensure smooth operations of the application deployed in these environments, looking after availability, performance, security, etc.
Liaise with the Client to manage security-related tasks: advisories related to security patches, continuity plans, audits and assessments.
Point of contact for any incident, ensuring its quick and effective resolution
Propose and implement solutions to improve availability, performance, or to simplify application monitoring
Maintain accurate documentation of system configuration, procedures, etc


Preferred experience

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3-4 years of experience in IT operations in an enterprise or government environment.
Strong understanding of cloud technologies, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, etc.
Good knowledge of government regulations, compliance standards (e.g. ICT&SS Management, Digital Service Standards), and security frameworks.
Experience in both Windows and Unix/Environments
Good knowledge of scripting (shell scripts, powershell, Python…), ETL processes, etc.
Strong understanding of web technologies
Experience in database management and SQL language. Good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and PostGRE is a plus
Experience in virtualization and managing VMs (VMWare, HyperV…)
Experience working with teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Additional Information:
This position may require security clearance and adherence to strict confidentiality protocols due to the sensitive nature of government data and operations. Flexibility in working hours and occasional travel may be required to support system maintenance, upgrades, or emergencies.
