This Legal team's mission is to provide close support to all teams to seize opportunities and secure the business. We play a vital role in the growth of the company which creates apps, algorithms and produces innovation and efficiencies in a highly competitive market. We advise a variety of stakeholders and make magic by drafting and negotiating strategic contracts, reviewing operations, launching new countries. Working with us means being smart, creative, and humble to find solutions while remaining compliant. 

We are looking for an Employment Legal Counsel who will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of UK employment law. This role reports to Eva, our Head of Legal - UK.

What will I be doing?

  • You will collaborate with teams across the Stuart business, and in particular you will work closely with the Operations teams and the Human Resources team.
  • You will provide pragmatic, clear and actionable advice to the business on an array of employment law matters, and you will work to set up the business for success
  • What do we need from you?

  • Is a UK qualified lawyer, with 4+ years relevant post qualification experience from a leading law firm or in-house team.
  • Has experience in complex contentious and non-contentious employment law matters
  • Is a results-oriented, business partner, providing pragmatic and operational solutions
  • Has a significant sense of autonomy and is happy to  independently manage various projects and workstreams 
  • Is open to feedback and an advocate for an accessible, diverse, low-ego approach to work
  • Ideally has experience working in or with technology companies, particularly those in the gig economy spaceIf you have a second language that would be a plus.
  • While not essential, we envisage that the right candidate will have a degree of in-house experience
  • We’d be particularly keen to hear from applicants speaking French, Spanish or Polish
