As our Technical Accounting Manager, you will oversee Sorare’s accounting risk assessment and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex accounting considerations such as revenue recognition, tax, M&A, reporting etc. You will have significant responsibility for external reporting, assessing complex technical accounting matters and setting accounting policies and processes.

You will report to the US Director of Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the Company’s technical accounting, policies and specialized accounting functions, ensuring the highest degree of quality in the Company’s financial statements
• Assist with relevant corporate tax areas
• Develop and maintain company-wide accounting policies
• Research and draft technical memorandums on significant proposed and/or completed transactions and complex issues impacting the company 
• Monitor the development and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules
• Research and document response for technical accounting issues
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure proper financial statement presentation of complex accounting areas and significant transactions
• Lead the technical accounting research for significant transactions, such as share-based compensation, capitalized software development costs among others

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or equivalent required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, specifically technical memo writing
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
• Ability to work collaboratively within the organization and with senior management
• Demonstrated ability to untangle complex issues and problem solve
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Blockchain/crypto knowledge and experience a plus
