About the job

As a Technical Excellence Coach, you will be in charge of leading Communities of Practice for agility and software craftsmanship at Scaleway.

Your main mission will be to coach the Cloud Builder Launchpad, our junior onboarding program at Scaleway. This four-month program (10 engineers per class ) allows us to train new graduates and self-taught engineers in our ecosystem, our development practices, our architecture and our methods.

You will be in charge of the technical part of recruitment and of upgrading the skills of our new developers. You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the program so that the junior engineers  meet the expectations of our Engineering managers in terms of efficiency and the expectations of Scaleway in terms of numbers. Our program is already live, so we are looking for someone capable of sustaining it and ensuring its sustainability and evolution.

Minimum qualifications

  • Cloud user and have been able to use its different products  at scale for the last few years
  • Experienced leader (10+ years) with a strong technical background 
  • Agile mindset and a solid knowledge of agile methods
  • Open minded and ready to adapt quickly
  • Very good command of English

    • Preferred qualifications

  • Able to teach Python, GoLang, Gitlab and CI-CD is mandatory
  • Able to teach practical skills, such as : TDD, testing and branching strategy, working on legacy code, continuous delivery
  • Comfortable with live coding
  • Good notions of network and systems
  • Good listener and can adapt your approach  
  • As a coach, you inspire and encourage people, and you know how to give and receive feedback
  • Curious and creative by nature, you like to test new approaches, create workshops, training courses, etc.
  • You care about the evolution of practices and continuous learning 

    • Responsibilities

  • Coaching and leading the Cloud Builder Launchpad class
  • Communicating internally and externally about the program
  • Ensuring the quality and integration of four classes of 10 engineers in 2022

    • This position can be based in our offices in Paris or Lille, partial remote is possible (France).
