The position

Job description

We are building the platform that hosts Qwant.com. Our team is looking for SRE Engineers to build the infrastructure, operate our services and improve computation resources consumption. Convinced by the fact containers are the way to go (run and deploy different technologies the same way), we chose Kubernetes as our next generation orchestrator. We operate our own services and clusters on premises in France (400+ servers) with cloud-enabled failover.


Preferred experience

What you will directly contribute to:

Building our k8s platform and operating QWANT services, on prem and in the cloud (pod networking, node networking, security policies, authentication).
Designing, building and improving parts of our infrastructure and platform services to address scaling and resiliency needs;
• Anticipate & plan for resiliency, security, capacity, performance and cost optimization
• Be part of project squads to make recommendations based on the project scope and validate implementations,.
• Continuously improve our stack and methodology
• Create tools to speed up development delivery and consistency;
• Dig, investigate and fix issues;
• Automate and document as much as possible;

As a Senior SRE :
• you are comfortable leading technical projects
• you have experience in architecting solutions

What you have to know ?

• Significant experience on Kubernetes, Ansible
• In depth knowledge of some OSS technologies : web servers (haproxy, nginx, …) & data clustering (ES, PostgreSQL, kafka, …)
• System engineering, GNU Linux and TCP/IP advanced skills
• You are familiar with monitoring tools (Prometheus) and alerting
• You have notions of BGP routing
• Gitops philosophy
• You know how to organize yourself and choose priorities
• Working as a team, full remote culture
