Job description

To drive its growth in the UK and other affiliated markets, Qobuz is looking for a Northern Europe & Australasia Regional Manager

As Northern Europe & Australasia Regional Manager, you will be responsible for all commercial and operational activities in the UK and affiliated markets (Nordics, Australia, New Zealand). You are here to ensure the smooth functioning of these operations and the growth of the revenues on these markets.

The role will report to the global CEO.

Key responsibilities

  • Contributing to and executing the strategy for the covered markets, hand in hand with the company’s headquarters (based in France).
  • Developing the activities and revenue streams in the covered markets.
  • Being accountable for the P&L in the covered markets
  • Tracking and improving the main business KPI
  • Adding value by delivering results beyond the expectations
  • Contributing to new countries opening (within the covered region)

Key activities

All the key activities require strong collaboration with the home office teams based in Paris. Regular travel to headquarters may be needed.

Operations, Finance and HR

  • Contribute to set up the UK-based entity from a legal / fiscal / accounting perspective.
  • Recruit and manage the team members based in the UK (~4 people)
  • Oversee HR management, in coordination with the home office people team
  • Manage all finance, expenditures and payments connected to UK operations in conjunction with home office accounts team
  • Drive accurate sales forecasting
  • Maintain operating budget
  • Utilize data tools to track activity and share KPIs
  • Represent UK perspective in company planning processes

Sales and Marketing

  • Drive customer acquisition in the market
  • Oversee agencies and internal teams who plan and execute online advertising
  • Set strategies around social media marketing
  • Identify new channels and create plans for them
  • Manage partner marketing programs
  • Supervise local publicity efforts
  • Represent company at music and audio industry conferences, trade shows, and events

Business Development

  • Be responsible for UK-centric market intelligence
  • Develop existing partnerships
  • Build new partnerships
  • Shepherd deals through company as needed

Product

  • Work with home office PO team to represent voice of the local customer
  • Maintain high-level view of product roadmap and priorities
  • Foster innovative ideas concerning Qobuz and its products and services

Music

  • Maintain or build positive relationships with major and independent labels and distributors
  • Maintain or build relationships with artist managers, agents and others who represent talent
  • Participate in the planning and execution of music-focused promotional campaigns
  • Liaise with customers on music-related
  • Serve as a local point of contact in licensing discussions with new and existing suppliers and publishers

Preferred experience

Background

  • MBA or Masters degree in Business Administration

Experience

  • Min. 8 years in business management or commercial development in telecom / digital / media / luxury industries
  • Strong experience of distributing digital products in the UK / Ireland / Scandinavian markets / Australia / NZ
  • Knowledge of the specificities of the music industry
