Job description

Data at October

We think reinventing financing is a massive tech challenge, that’s why we built October as a tech and data centered startup. Today, the Tech, Data & Product teams (20 persons) are working on building the best financing experience ever made, very closely with the business.

The Data team is responsible for all things data at October: from setting up and maintaining our data-lake, to building and deploying ML models and setting up of the necessary infrastructure for model inferences. We recently also set up Looker to address our analytical workloads.

Our data stack is Python based with all compute/storage resources on AWS. To name a few, we make use of PySpark, SQL, Pandas, MLFlow, Scikit-learn, Keras to build our models and deploy them as applications with DMS, Postgres, Elasticbeanstalk, SNS, SQS, S3 and Lambda.

Your daily work:
As a Data Platform Engineer you will participate in the development of October’s data pipelines, responsible for shaping data from multiple sources, operating ML models and delivering insights to our BI product. You will be part of the Data team.

  • Develop Python components that help October in building and optimizing our data products
  • Build the required infrastructure to support the team’s production jobs and development initiatives using AWS and Databricks
  • Implement data integrity checks to proactively identify and fix data issues
  • Create, maintain, and own all data pipelines to serve other teams with accurate and consistent data
