Job description

We are looking for a qualified Community Manager to join our team based in Paris. In this role, you will act with the existing Community Management team as the face and voice of the studio in front of the community, particularly for the German-speaking market. If you are experienced in community events, community communication, and have a passion for MMORPGs and sci-fi, we would like to meet you.

As a native German speaker, our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills, and is able to develop engaging content for the community. You should be a ‘people person’ with great empathy and customer service skills, and have the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community. You know and understand German-speaking players and communities, and how to develop and nurture these communities. You should also have great teamwork skills and be able to communicate in English, in order to synchronise community efforts with the Community Management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Help develop the German-speaking communities of Dual Universe, be it by nurturing the existing communities, or by reaching out to and engaging with German-speaking players who may like the game
  • Respond to community comments and questions in a timely manner in German-speaking markets.
  • (especially on the official forum, Discord, Reddit, and YouTube)
  • Relay the key communication beats to the community, and the issues and concerns of the German-speaking players to the development team.
  • Monitor and report on community feedback and online reviews.
  • Help to create and/or participate in online/offline events to boost community activity (Gamescom…).
  • Coordinate with Marketing to ensure communication consistency.
  • Communicate with the Development team to stay up-to-date on new game features.
  • Build positive relationships with players and potential players in the German-speaking markets
  • Stay aligned with the rest of the Community Management and Live Operations Teams as well as the Moderation Staff on the Forum and Discord to ensure consistency.
  • Occasionally help the Marketing team with some not text-heavy translations for ads on the German market, in order to help with the acquisition of new players.
  • Even more occasionally, give a hand to the development team with limited last-minute translations of in-game text (we promise that this is not a translation job!)

Preferred experience

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of proven work experience in German-speaking markets as a Community Manager in video games, preferably in community-driven franchises and/or games.
  • Experience in launching community initiatives (e.g. launching or maintaining an ambassador program, creating an event series, writing an email newsletter, etc).
  • Native level German speaker, fluent in English and excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Living in Paris (or its surroundings), or willing to relocate to Paris (when the time will be right - remote work is currently in place at Novaquark).
  • Be greatly teamwork-oriented with other Community Managers.
  • (internal team communication is mandatory)
  • Ability to keep your cool, and quick to react in a crisis situation in the community.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • A real taste for sci-fi and good pop-culture knowledge would be appreciated as well.
  • Knowledge of Sandbox MMO games (like EVE Online or Elite: Dangerous) is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Kickstarter projects, their usual constraints/challenges, and being able to adapt the communication according to this kind of contest would be a big plus.
