Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSABILITIES & FUNCTIONS

As a member of the R&D team, you will actively participate in the development of the future of SteelSeries products, and will directly report to the Director of R&D of the Software & Services BU based in Lille.
You will be responsible for carrying out computer vision and machine learning projects, autonomously or in collaboration with other members of the R&D team.

Your missions will consistof:

  • Developing relevant technological concepts and algorithms in accordance with SteelSeries’ product strategy
  • Delivering prototypes that can be easily tested by the product managers and integrated by the software engineers
  • Developing and maintaining testand measurement tools to assess the quality of the algorithms, objectively & subjectively
  • Delivering qualification and benchmarking reports
  • Handling the discussions related to computer vision directly with the product managers and software engineers
  • Identifying patentable concepts
  • Monitoring the technological evolution related to artificial intelligence (computer vision & machine learning) by performing an active technological and competitive watch
  • Developing and maintaining scientific expertise in severalof the following fields: Artificial intelligence (computer vision and machine learning), statistics and probabilistic mathematics, audio signal processing, acoustics and psychoacoustics
  • Working independently with various teams across different regionsAnd, under management validation, if compliant either with the roadmap and budget, or with the intellectual property and communication strategy:
  • Writing and publishing scientific articles
  • Supervising Master’s internships or PhD students
  • Attending scientific conferences

Preferred experience

To succeed in this position, you will need to have:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, computer vision or machine learning related field
  • PhD degree or 3+ years of working experience is a plus
  • Knowledge & know-how in computer vision (detection, segmentation, classification/recognition, detection, OCR, real-time image processing, etc.)
  • Knowledge & know-how in machine learning (statistics, applied mathematics, regression, SVM, supervised/unsupervised learning, neural networks (MLP, CNN, etc.)
  • Knowledge & know-how in usingCV/ML tools (OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow,CUDA, etc.)
  • Knowledge & know-how in usingsoftware programming tools (Python, Matlab, C/C++, Git, etc.)
  • Knowledge & know-how in audio, especiallyaudio digital signal processing is a plus (biquad, FFT, short-time FFT analysis/synthesis framework, Wiener filtering, etc.)
  • Strong passion in science, technology and innovation
  • Motivation for the transformational effects of technology-at-scale
  • Curiosity,open to new ideas & quick to learn new skills
  • Ability to operate in a collaborative, team-oriented culture
  • Ability to work autonomously and multi-task effectively
  • Publications in top conferences is a plus (CVPR, ECCV, etc.)
