Pavla Nedbalová, Category Activation Executive

Get to Know Pavla

Pavla works at the Trade Marketing Department that makes campaigns to improve sales both in brick-and-mortar stores and e-shops. They closely cooperate with the Marketing Department. The Marketing Department will tell them what to focus on each month, and it is up to them how to implement it. This may include in-store sampling with hostesses, sales stands, or buy-and-get events such as competitions. These work in the long run. It’s common for them to evaluate last Christmas and prepare for the next Easter at the same time.

Even though I am stressed out sometimes, I never get up feeling like not wanting to go to work.

Lucie Grunclová, Customer Service & Logistics Manager CZ/SK/HU

Get to Know Lucie

Lucie has been working at Mondelēz for 15 years. She has experience from all departments within the supply chain, and now she manages the entire chain in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. She is daily in touch with her foreign colleagues via e-mails and teleconference calls. She likes observing how each culture has its own style of communication and approach to unexpected situations. Someone tries to follow the set procedure whatever it takes, and others look for ways how to get around obstacles and reach their goal as easily as possible. It is this diversity that brings great solutions.

The relaxed atmosphere is one of the reasons why I look forward to going to work every morning.

Love Brand Products

Mondelēz can put smiles on the faces of children and adults alike. The company produces sweets and baked products which people have been enjoying for generations. It supplies 16 brands and more than 500 kinds of products on the Czech and Slovak markets. Their product portfolio includes love brands such as the Milka and Toblerone chocolates, Oreo cookies, BeBe Dobré ráno biscuits, or Brumík soft pastry. And do not forget the local Opavia, Fidorka, Figaro, and Tatranky brands, and Kolonáda spa wafers.

Oreo for Entire Europe

One of the four factories in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is located in Opava, and it is the flagship of the company. This plant has been in operation since 1840, and 10 million Oreo cookies are produced here every day. In total, there are 16 production lines in the plant, and five of those are referred to as the “production lines of the future.” The production is operated primarily by a computer, and the human factor is mostly absent. The plant is classified as green and has LEED certification. Aside from a variety of energy-saving technologies and gadgets, they even use rainwater to flush toilets. And the other plants are not staying behind. The history of the Lovosice plant making biscuits and wafers dates as far as 1806. The one in Mariánské Lázně has been producing the Kolonáda spa wafers for more than 160 years, and the Chocolate factory in Bratislava is nearly as magical as Willy Wonka’s.

Open Mind, Inclusion, and Diversity

This encapsulates their corporate culture. The company includes a diverse collective of nationalities and personalities. People who are not afraid to be themselves. A large portion of the employees are women, and this includes leadership positions as well. It is possible to work from home regularly, but this doesn’t mean that you would lose contact with others. The company has technology that allows the employees to work as efficiently from anywhere as if they would be in the office.

Everyone Has a Path to Success

The background of an international company gives people many opportunities for both personal and career growth. No one’s journey is set in stone. You just need to make up your mind, and they will give you a tailor-made role, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. They have comprehensive leadership programs for both Junior and Senior Managers and the Mondelēz International University (MIU) platform with a wide range of courses and webinars. The fact that the average length of employment exceeds 8 years proves that the people here don’t just stay in one place but like to learn, grow, and are not afraid to stand up to a challenge!

Making World a Better Place

Mondelēz offers products made from the top-quality ingredients. They undertook to make all their packaging recyclable by 2025. The company also supports sustainable cocoa production under the Cocoa Life program and sustainable wheat production as a part of the Harmony Initiative, which already includes 26 Czech farmers. They also organize a number of volunteer events with the employees.
