👥 About the Team

The Profitability team, within the Technical Department, plays a key role in monitoring and improving the performance of Wakam’s insurance products distributed through our partner network.

As actuaries, we:

  • Analyze claims and performance trends
  • Identify risk or pricing imbalances
  • Propose corrective actions to meet our profitability objectives
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our products are both competitive and sustainable

🧰 Your Mission

As Profitability Actuary, you’ll report to the Profitability Team Lead and be responsible for managing the technical performance of a portfolio of partner-distributed products.

You will:

  • Act as the actuarial lead for your assigned portfolio of partnerships
  • Drive pricing development and technical support in collaboration with the Business Development and Partner teams
  • Monitor profitability and claims ratios via dashboards and in-depth actuarial studies
  • Raise alerts and propose corrective actions in case of profitability deviations
  • Present technical results and performance insights to internal committees and external partners
  • Support reserving work in coordination with the Reserving team for your portfolio
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects involving Underwriting, Product, and Data teams

🧠 What You Bring

  • A degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Data Science
  • Prior experience in P&C insurance, preferably in Motor pricing or profitability (nice to have, not required)
  • Familiarity with data platforms like Snowflake, as well as visualization tools like PowerBI
  • Proficiency with actuarial tools: EMBLEM, AKUR8, or equivalent linear modeling platforms
  • Strong command of Python or R and exposure to machine learning methods
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills
  • Fluency in English (required); French is a strong plus
