At J&J, she leads the Divestitures & Acquisitions team consisting of eight senior people who know their way around accounting and have known J&J for some time. Whenever the company decides to sell off one of its European entities, her team is asked to support the new owners, especially in the accounting area until the takeover is completed. The team makes sure the new owner receives all historical and current data of the entity. Up until this stage, every project of such type is absolutely confidential, so everybody in her team often talks in ciphers; this can be really amusing at times. Martina’s main responsibility is to make sure her team knows what the priorities for the given period are and perform the tasks accordingly.
Martina prefers to spend her free time with her family. She also needs regular workouts to keep her good mood. For this reason, she attends guided fitness classes, like bosu balance exercise or circuit trainings. In summer, she also likes to go jogging and skiing in winter, either in Czechia or abroad.

When Saskia joined Johnson & Johnson, she started her two-day welcome meeting where she learned everything about the company. After the first day, she knew what kind of company she works for, how it operates, what the company culture is as well as the company motto. The second day, she got to know the various company departments and the product’s journey before it reaches the end customer. Saskia was the last one to join her team. It was not ideal given her position, but the team members helped her with everything and explained the whole business inner-workings. She has developed a strong connection with them and believes they appreciate her efforts to learn everything so quickly.
Saskia spends most of her time by refining and setting up processes, reporting and building the team as well as its relationship with other teams.
Saskia prefers to spend her free time with friends. They go out for dinner or a drink and enjoy life in Prague. Since she joined Johnson & Johnson, Saskia has started to visit the gym more often. One is in her building and there is no problem to take a break and go work out during the day. She also attends tango lessons every week.
Martin joined Johnson & Johnson after returning from abroad where he had studied economics. He is a part of the Onboarding team and provides everything necessary for the arrival of a new employee. From preparing the employment contract, through the registration in the system to providing a company car. In summer of 2018, Martin joined the HR Development Leadership program. Over the next three years, he plans to try out working in various positions and use the unique opportunity to participate in various attractive projects.
Within the HR Development Leadership program, Martin works on projects which will improve and streamline the work of the entire HR Department. For example, his team has managed to tweak the recruitment process which used to be unnecessarily lengthy and clumsy. They have modified the documentation for managers who recruit the candidates and improved the communication for the newly arriving colleagues. The employees finally know exactly where to go when they arrive and who to approach if necessary. Even though these are small-scale subprojects, their outcome is very significant for HR.
When he comes home from work, Martin changes his clothes and heads straight for the garden. After a long day at work, he finds gardening as the best form of relaxation. His other passion is history. He is interested in creating family trees. Of course, he also has his own detailed family tree.
At J&J, she has the opportunity to build something entirely new since she is in her natural habitat. Petra takes on any new challenge enthusiastically, and she finds creating anything from scratch incredibly interesting as it helps her to grow. In her previous role as a Procurement Team Lead, her workload consisted mainly of planning and coordinating activities for individual team members and supervising ongoing projects. In Petra’s current position as a Continuous Improvement Architect Procurement, she is constantly in touch with her colleagues so she has to know what they need help with and what could be set up differently to increase their efficiency. She supports any good ideas. Her team is a part of a dynamic environment and it is essential to keep moving on.
Petra lives with her family relatively far from Prague, so she spends a fair amount of time commuting to work. Thanks to the supportive approach of J&J, she can work from home for part of the week and spend more valuable time with her family, which is something she truly appreciates. Petra also tries to have some time only for herself. She regularly attends yoga classes that are provided as one of many employee benefits. There, she is able to unwind, relax and energize herself. Recently, she started practicing Nordic walking, which has a similar effect on her.
