We’re seeking a highly skilled & hands-on Backend Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to join Tengo in the early team and make a significant impact on both the product and the technical stack. You will work closely with our CTO Yoann.

To date, our technical challenges encompass:

1. Collecting open web data from hundreds of sources

2. Structuring & enriching that data to make it valuable to suppliers

3. Building a SaaS app that enable them to find tenders that match their business

4. Creating features to assist these bidders in responding to the tender

The 2 first points will be your primary area of work ;-)

As Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

1. Feed data to the Tengo product to bring value to users dealing with public tenders daily. This involves tasks like : scraping data from structured & unstructured sources, clean & enrch it, extract content from PDF files, index it in databases, … No previous scraping experience is required ;-)

2. Collaborate with the Full Stack engineer to building the end-user app with features like multi-criteria search, alerting system, comment system

3. Work with the CTO to challenge the architecture, striking the right balance between quick iterations & feature scalability

4. Participate in the daily life of an early stage startup that is focused on one thing: building an ambitious product

The ideal candidate

• You have 4+ years of software engineer experience on coding SaaS apps in teams, with a focus on data or backend

• You have previously defined technical implementations and challenged software architectural designs

• You’re eager to join an early stage project, define a young product & get your hands dirty implementing it

• You’re curious and enjoy exploring new areas (you might even grow to love tenders!).
