Gorgias helps e-commerce companies deliver excellent customer service at scale. We integrate email, live chat, voice, Facebook, Instagram, and SMS with Shopify, BigCommerce, and Magento.

Our product creates a unified customer profile by combining emails, live-chat, and social-media messages with e-commerce data such as purchase and delivery info. Combining all this data in a single application makes customer service more efficient and just better. About the Team

  • Gorgias’ finance team is looking to hire our first accountant. This hire must not only work autonomously but well within a growing team, in addition to communicating proactively and taking extreme ownership of their work.
  • You will apply your knowledge in accounting to perform account reconciliations, month-end closes, accounts payable, and analysis on financial information. You will also lead the management of the day-to-day administrative functions of the finance team.
  • As the first accountant on the team, you have the opportunities to work closely with the Head of finance, and the strategic finance leads to ensure all bookkeeping, tax, regulatory and legal requirements are met.

    • What You'll Do

  • Bookkeeping duties
  • Maintain Quickbooks, and soon Netsuite
  • A/P: Detail-oriented, able to seek out inconsistencies in billing and/or inefficiencies
  • A/R: Generate invoices and letters to clients, continuous follow-up on receivables
  • Other accounting duties
  • Collaborate with external accountants to perform month-end procedures & various account reconciliations and analyses
  • Review and verify the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of reported data
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting information for management and finance teams
  • Assist in documenting internal processes/controls as well as developing improvements as appropriate
  • Lead company GL transition from Quickbooks to Netsuite

    • Who You Are

  • A degree in accounting from a four-year college and a CPA
  • 4+ years accounting experience, SAAS finance, and accounting preferred
  • Proficiency with accrual accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite; Advanced Excel skills required such as nested formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and indexing
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks, Tipalti, Netsuite
