The position

Job description

What role will you play in our team:

  • to management and relevant parties (i.e. tax/law) as necessary. Facilitate efforts to reduce or eliminate reoccurrence
  • Lead the region in optimizing duties reductions for affiliates and customers by utilizing free trade agreements
  • Liaison with regional 3P (suppliers; customs agents) to ensure proper service level and response to questions
  • Assist regional local contacts to determine the applicability of a new/changed regulation and specific implementation plan
  • Lead or participate in interaction with government agencies, freight forwarders, global tax, legal and controllers as necessary.
  • Build personal awareness of applicable trade regulations
  • Ensure adherence to global processes; support regional or local process alignment when common regulations
  • Work across functions to ensure proper engagement and act as liaison between network and impacted functions
  • Facilitate sharing of best practices across the regions and business units (i.e. Chemicals)
  • Support regional local compliance through periodic reviews of procedures and activities, and validation of resource requirements
  • Develop and coordinate of improvement programs in Trade Regulation
  • Identify opportunities to automate or improve trade regulation compliance
  • Ensure all activities conform to the expectations set forth in the BPIMS Framework

Preferred experience

What are we looking for:

  • Bachelor or Master in law or economy preferred
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain preferred but not mandatory
  • Desire to enlarge trade regulations knowledge and become an expert in the field
  • Self-starter with strong self-motivation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a clear positive personality
  • Leadership skills with a predisposition for indirect leadership
  • Independent, initiative-taking, able to perform with limited guidance
