Job description

About Roundtable

Roundtable is aiming to revolutionize asset management by building a social platform to democratize investments in alternative assets (start-ups, private equity, art, crypto-assets, etc.).
Our vision is that alternative asset classes will grow fast in the coming years, as the returns of more traditional investments (real estate, stock markets, etc.) are decreasing, inflation is growing, and tech makes it easier than ever to democratize this type of investments outside of the Ultra High Net Worth sphere.
This is why we want to build the eToro of alternative assets.

As a first step, Roundtable will be the go-to platform for everything related to angel-investing in startups, with a social network twist.
Roundtable will empower angel investors to invite their network to co-invest alongside them, automating all the regulatory and process flows under the hood.
Further down the line, we will open other asset classes (such as Venture capital or Private Equity) and aim to become the one-stop shop for non-professional investors for all alternative asset investments.
We will also be exploring if this can be done with DAOs, which we believe will completely change how organizations (including investment syndicates) will be run.

About the team

We are 6 at Roundtable today and counting!

Roundtable has been founded by an experienced team :

  • Evan, CEO, ex Boston Consulting Group Principal (7 years)
  • Julien, CPO, ex Boston Consulting Group Lead Data Scientist (6 years)
  • Simon, CTO, ex CTO and co founder (10 years)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Developer with a strong tech background.
You are a technical leader at heart and will support the overall decision-making process as well as the company’s sustained growth.

As Lead Developer you will:

  • Develop, deploy and maintain new features
  • Ensure code review and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Hire, mentor, and manage the tech team, to allow them to grow and give their full potential

Challenges

We deal with sensitive financial data, which comes with the following challenges:

  • Security - data is extremely sensitive and security is paramount
  • Exactitude - computations have to be exact to the cent at all times
  • Code quality - the tech stack should withstand auditing from the regulator
  • Data and IT architecture will have to functionally and technically scale. One example of a challenge identified for the data model is complex equity flows going through different layers of intermediaries. The data model will have to compute actual ownership and be general enough to work for different countries’ legal context
