About Folk

• Work involves putting contacts into action. Whether it’s for PR, investment, recruiting, sales, or events, contacts are the most important asset for teams and individuals.
• Users are currently left with just two options for managing our contacts, neither of which fulfil their needs. Productivity tools, such as Notion, Airtable or Coda allow for collaboration but do not synchronize with communication tools and are clearly not designed for managing a network. Conversely, address books like Google Contacts are designed for contacts, but treat them as purely static objects and lack functionality for collaboration.
• Our mission: transform the address book into a collaborative, productivity tool to manage your contacts and optimize your network.
• We want to reinvent the address book as Slack/Superhuman has done for email (Outlook, Mail, Gmail) and Slite/Notion has done to the traditional word processors (Word, Google Docs)

Mission

• We’re looking for a Lead Designer to help us reinvent the way people and companies are managing their contacts.
• As a luxury productivity tool, we aim to be used on a daily basis by our users: design and UX are key to build a seamless experience.
• You will lead the design efforts and collaborate with the product and tech team to build an amazing user journey on folk, and a product optimized to engage and retain our users.
• You’ll be engaged in building a rigorous design system and make sure it’s implemented by the front team

What you will be doing ?

• Lead the entire design effort in close collaboration with product team and design team
• Validate and challenge wireframes to deliver a stunning user-centric experience
• Iterate on concepts to bring them to life and design features that ship quickly and with high quality
• Lead our branding efforts including on our landing page
• Validate features shipped in prod stick to our design high standards
• Recruit and lead the future design team
• Convey our high quality standards to the entire team

Requirements

• • 4+ years of industry experience in visual interface design
• You have a demonstrated ability to distill complex problems down to simple and elegant experiences for end-users
• You have a proven ability to prototype user flows and oversee the implementation by partnering closely with engineering and product
• You’re empathic and curious with users
• Integration skills is a strong plus
• You’re a team player, eager to provide feedbacks and happy to receive them as learning opportunities
• You’ll know how to prioritize in order to deliver on time, as speed of execution is key, while never compromising on quality
• You’re product-minded and eager for your company to meet business goals
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit, you’re not afraid of taking initiative and measured risks
• You’re excited by the prospect of growing into a management role
