Job description

Who we are 👋

We empower users to achieve their goals.

Kairn is the productivity tool for ambitious individuals and teams to prioritise their days across projects and tools.

Teams collaborate across a wide number of tools, think Jira, Linear for developers, Figma, Whimsical for designers, Asana, Salesforce, Hubspot, GoogleSheet, for marketing teams, Airtable, Notion, Docs, for Ops + our communication tools Slack, emails, Zoom… To manage projects, they use old project tools built for managers, not for team members, failing at engaging with the right user.

Because of that, users add an extra layer of personal task management to prioritise their days. That’s yet another disconnected tool leading to out-of-date data across tools making team progress impossible.

We think that process is broken. To solve it we build a user-centric approach to project management serving users instead of managers. Kairn is the place where you prioritise your days, across all your projects and tools. From personal to professional projects we enable you and your crew to get things done, faster, better, together. Clear the mess, prioritise projects with updated data, and progress everyday. Basically, have a kick ass day.

Be part of an exciting adventure 🏂

To join us you’ll need a bit of an Indiana Jones feel! The road is not paved, you’ll join in creating it. Our product is constantly evolving, and we’re only sure of one thing: we want to help users get things done.

This being said, we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve!

  • We’re backed by eFounders, the startup studio behind Front • Mailjet • Aircall • Spendesk • Forest • Upflow and +30 startups. We work with their team on design, go-to-market, and fundraising, among other matters to grow Kairn
  • Thousands of people have signed-up for our beta and we’re getting great initial feedback on first users
  • We’re building an A-crew of ambitious (sky is the limit 🌖), self-driven (go get it tiger 🐅), and positive people (be the person you’d love to meet 🙏)
  • Patricia our CEO who loves to push people to dare to try
  • Xavier our Lead Tech crazy about observability and architecture
  • Alex our Senior fullstack who delights in front-end challenges
  • Julien our Senior Apple Master who’ll tell you all the secrets of macOS and iOS
  • Romain our Product Manager who gets user flow inspiration from hikes
  • Mathilde our Business Associate with a 100% retention rate on users she onboards ❣️

What you’ll do? 😈

Our tech team is driven by challenge and looking for continuous improvement. We like to be proud of what we build with clean code, reviews, and tests but we understand the urgency of early-stage so we build with speed in mind.

  • Be part of the full feature development process: from ideation with the Product Manager, conception with the tech team, delivery, and documenting for review
  • Work on both front and back end with an emphasis on the front
  • Contribute to building with quality, maintainability, scalability, and efficiency in mind with best practices such as code reviews and tests
  • Be mentored by top senior developers and quickly gain new skills

Preferred experience

Is that you?

  • 1-3 years of experience building applications on a modern JS framework (ReactJS / VueJS, Angular, Svelte…)
  • Product focused: You’re eager to build the best user experience and believe that user feedback is key
  • Self-driven: You take initiative (and measure risks 😅) without waiting on instructions. You’re a hard-worker excited about an early-stage startup adventure and ready to build your impact
  • Humble: You understand that in early stage we often undo what we’ve done and need to reconsider what we’ve built. You know how to listen and value others’ opinion. You want to learn and take feedback positively to improve - feedback is a gift
  • Team player: You’re eager to build as a team, providing feedback in a constructive and positive manner (remember be the person you’d like to meet 😏)
  • Efficiency at heart: You know how to prioritise as speed of execution is key, while never compromising on quality
  • English friendly: Our day-to-day happens in French so speaking French is a must, but we write all in English as part of the team will be in the US

Bonus points if you’re experienced in ReactJS and extra bonus if you’ve worked with hooks 🪝

Our stack 🛠

  • Frontend: ReactJS, Apollo Client, Redux, TypeScript
  • Backend: NodeJS, NestJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, TypeScript
  • Infrastructure: Terraform, Kubernetes, on GCP (GKE, AppEngine, CloudBuild, PubSub, CloudSQL, …)

Benefits 🎁

You’ll be joining as one of the first 10 members of the team. Our goal is to be used by all teams across the world to get things done on a daily basis. It’s a big goal and clearly gonna be a challenge, but that’s what makes it fun and joining early is what makes it potentially life-changing.

  • Challenging work experience, with an ambitious team of passionate and talented people
  • Evolve, learn, and take ownership
  • Be among the first employees of a startup backed by eFounders
  • Salary + equity package (BSPCE)
  • Remote friendly with a spot at our Paris HQ at Station F if you’re in Paris
  • Team in-person get together to work and bound ~ every 8 weeks (covid permitting 😅)
  • Macbook pro M1 set-up
  • A front seat to disrupt global sluggishness 🐌 => 🔥
