What is the Jr. Carbon Project Consultant Development’s objective?
Carbon offset, carbon neutrality and net zero initaitives are gaining momentum in all our geographical areas. The voluntary market is growing rapidly as well as the demand for voluntary offsetting. On the compliance side, regional and sectorial regulations are escalating as well. Project development demand is growing, with increased interest in carbon sequestration and removals.

As a fast-growing organization, we are currently looking for a Carbon Project Development junior consultant – within the Nature Based Solutions Business Unit.

Jr. Carbon Project Consultant Development, Nature Based Solutions Business Unit
The Jr. Consultant within the Nature Based Solutions BU contributes to the current portfolio of projects developed by the Group and contribute to the development of new innovative field projects.

He/she contributes to develop the projects, the expertise of the team and assists Seniors and consultants in performing their tasks.

He/She will contribute to identify, assess potential, perform and secure the registration and verification of a dedicated Forestry and REDD+ projects portfolio under international carbon standards (GS, VERRA, …) with his teams and under the supervisionof his/her managers.

Under the supervision of His / Her managers, he / she follows the necessary Key Performance Indicators and appropriated tools, in collaboration with the Project Development Team. He / She will implement periodic review of reporting and indicators.

Main responsibilities include:
She/He will work in close collaboration with one Senior consultant to:

Contribute to the development & management of a EcoAct’s Carbon portfolio
• Explore and study project development opportunities with potential partners related to their carbon and co-benefits potential for all forestry related projects and countries
• Set up partnerships and Business Plans for each opportunity using various models (Development, sponsor, arranger), contribute to sustainable Business Models set up with partners and stakeholders
• Monitor some of the necessary Key Performance Indicators and appropriated tools (MRV), in collaboration with the Project Development Team and the Portfolio & Partnership team,
• Contribute to the follow-up of certain existing projects and work on the development of future new projects
• Take part in project development activity: carbon methodologies, feasibility studies, validation, and verification documents, Project Design Documents, Sustainable Development Goals, etc.
• Respect the group standards and procedures in the development of new projects
• Evaluate risks (technical, financial, regulatory…) and set up appropriate mitigated actions for the development of new projects


Preferred experience

Required competencies for the position
• Rigorous and organized
• Collaborative, Expert, Future focused, Engaged
• Experienced in international project development and management
• Knowledge of NBS project management
• Mandatory technical expertise in fields such as forestry, ecosystems conservation and restauration or in energy sector.
• GIS knowledge is a strong asset
• Excel proficiency
• Adaptability and flexibility, future focused
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in English, another language is a must

Experience
• Proven experience in ecosystemic project development and management
