This position in open in the Autonomy By EasyMile team, this team is responsible for the design and creation of new autonomous vehicle solutions. From the technological bricks that we have tested on our already marketed products (EZ10 and TractEasy) we are building the vehicles of tomorrow (buses, vans, trucks, etc.).

To support the growth of our activity and finalize the projects we are already carrying out today, we are looking for an Mechatronics and embedded software engineer.

Your mission will be to help us design and create our current and new autonomous vehicle solutions, with a participation on the prototyping and pre-series phases.

Your future responsibilities :

  • Be the main technical referent for a platform
  • Define the architecture of the technical solution to fulfil the product needs
  • Support the internal and partner teams during the product life cycle (from tests to the deployments)
  • In charge of technical documentation related to the Low level software level
  • In charge of the low level software developments and organize the software deliveries
  • Participate to the low level software developments and the source code peer review
  • Mechanical and electrical integration (mechanical and electrical integration into vehicle / definition of electrical and energy schemes / supervision of mounting into the vehicle / tests in partner/client premises)
  • Low level developments (communication protocol definition and coding / developments for low level components (PLC…) / software integration of low level and vehicle parts with robotics embedded software)
  • Components setup (provisioning of components / sensors setup (lidars, cameras, radars…) / actuator setup (control driver…) / loop control setup on vehicle)
  • Team & partner support (L2 - expertise level)

A 2 months training period is planned for you to comprehend our technologies, processes and tools in order to guarantee an effective upskill on our systems.

Required

  • Experience in designing embedded systems
  • Strong experience in communication protocols: CAN, Serial, Ethernet…
  • Experience with automation systems (PLC language)
  • Good oral and written English

Desirable

  • Definition and execution of rigorous low level test process and plan
  • Ability to code in C and C++
  • Mechanics knowledge (traction system…)
  • Ability to clearly and professionally interact with clients/partners/teams
  • System architecture (IO definition / low level components choice / intersystem architecture / ICD writing)
  • Safety (technical safety concept writing / safety requirements impacts on architecture)
