About the role:

Financial Controller prepares financial reporting and analysis for IT Services departments, coordinates budget and forecast process, supports Cost model and departmental Profit & Loss inputs preparation and reporting, supports Business Case creation ensuring rigorous financial control in line with DPDHL policies and supports Accounting Governance activities.

Your work:

• Provide financial service and support to specific business area (e.g. department)
• Support a range of Controlling tasks from monthly reporting (P&L, CAPEX, FTEs including variance analysis) to complex and nonroutine tasks requiring background research and detailed analysis
• Participate on monthly/year-end accounting closing, preparing accruals, posting adjusting journal entries, analyzing transactions for specific department
• Keep the management of the assigned department to account for financial results
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
• Ensure comprehensive, timely and meaningful planning for the specific business area; identify savings opportunities
• Analyze Financial development (especially cost and income), understanding the relevant drivers
• Support Business Case process to be in line with IT Services Investment Guideline
• Follow up and resolve anomalies identified through the variance analysis
• Prepare inputs to departmental Profit & Loss
• Align costs with charges on service level
• Supports in connecting Finance and business side, as well in recommending and implementing methods for increasing efficiency and financial performance

You should have:

• Business-minded Finance experience
• Strong analytical skills and ability to produce and assess budgets, reports in line with sound financial and commercial criteria
• Detail oriented mind with a strong focus on high quality service performance across different locations with different conditions
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office (especially MS Excel and PowerPoint)
• PowerBI and SAP knowledge would be advantageous
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices from international companies, preferably IFRS/US GAAP
• Previous experience of general accounting and controlling gained in an international environment, preferably IT related
• Personal drive, enthusiasm and resilience to achieve objectives in line with deadlines
• Developed problem solving skills
• Well developed interpersonal skills to encourage and facilitate support and buy-in across the organization; a good communicator, with well-developed oral, written and presentation skills
• Fluent English
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial reporting/controlling
• Minimum bachelor degree in Finance, Information Systems or Business Administration
