Job Description
MISSION :
Define and implement the content strategy of Deezer in MENA
• Define the editorial strategy for Deezer in the main markets in MENA
• Drive the development of music, podcasts & productions through editorialization, production and acquisitions of new catalogues
• Coordination with product development for an optimized integration on the Deezer platform
• Development of editorial marketing strategy, management of new content launches and work together with brand & marketing teams
• Management of Artist Marketing - Negotiation of special operations, marketing campaigns and development of the relations with labels, artists & managers
EDITORIAL :
• Creation of the editorial marketing & animations within the Deezer apps
• Management of music managers in MENA region and of the playlist strategy
• Management of editorial and marketing relations of the record labels in MENA
• Coordination of editorial matters for CRM & social media together with Marketing teams
• Management of the editorial integration of new catalogues together with acquisition teams
• Development of curation partners with artists or media to ensure reach of our content outside of the Deezer eco-system
• Monitoring the performance of content & defining together with central editorial teams the tools & needs
LABEL MARKETING
Identify priority projects for Deezer in MENA region
Work with labels on acquiring and launching new music catalogues on Deezer in the MENA region
Develop in coordination with marketing and brand teams special operations for the launch of new albums
Booking of artists for special events or original productions, social media and marketing…
ACQUISITION :
Acquisition strategy for new content development next to the music.
• radio, TV, audiobooks and other thematics
• Negotiation and operational implementation
CONTENT PRODUCTIONS :
Production strategy for new content in MENA on platform
• Creation of original concepts for music productions and podcasts
• Management of external companies and freelancers helping to deliver production
• Recruitment and management of production team
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in editorial, entertainment and/or media industry.
Strategic thinker with an eye for detail
Ability to use data and transform it into winning strategies
Good negotiation skills
Experience in music programming and engaging users with curated playlists
Strong knowledge in music across all genres, more specifically Urban, Latin and Pop
Valuable network in the music industry, artists and management
Track record in managing editorial teams and creative people
Good knowledge of the music, streaming landscape
Fluent english speaker
