The team

The Data Platform team is embedded within the Core Product Startup which builds and maintains Deezer’s applications.

The Data Platform mission is to provide Deezer teams with trusted data, innovative data solutions that are easy to use and understand. It plays a key role, being responsible for the storage, processing, and exploration of all data collected at Deezer. We work on processing terabytes of data each day, enabling data scientists and analysts to retrieve valuable information from historical and real-time data in a resource-effective way.

 

What you will do:

  • Design & develop reliable data pipelines and be accountable for them
  • Participate in the ideation process with our product managers & tech leaders
  • Participate in the data community by collaborating with other data engineers, analysts and scientists to define simple & scalable architectures
  • Ensure, with the support of the tech leader, that all the code written and the architecture is of high quality and scalable
  • Improve the codebase by refactoring legacy code and systems
  • Participate in projects planning, standups and retrospectives
  • Being a technical support for your stakeholders

Preferred experience

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years experience in software engineering using Big Data technologies
  • Strong engineering skills (code design and quality, tests, reviews, logging, monitoring, continuous integration, DevOps)
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining data pipelines in production
  • Ability to understand & explain complex architectures
  • Rigorous and enthusiastic team-player, passionate about problem solving
  • Proficient in either Java, Scala or Python
  • Fluent in English
