Are you a Economy Designer or Game Designer with a passion for gameplay systems that utilize resources, crafting, and simulated ecosystems?

Do you have experience and passion for working on online games or GAAS (Games as a Service)?

Do you enjoy working directly in tools to fine-tune game economy minutiae to maximize player fulfillment?

Are you looking for a way to monetize F2P games that shows appreciation to the player community for their support?

Please note that this position is either full-time on-site in Paris - or you can work remotely from your home anywhere in Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define economic quality standards and best practices and help the design team maintain them
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the design direction so that systems can be reviewed and implemented within technical specifications
  • Prototype new economy features and systems in collaboration with the design team
  • Centralize and clearly communicate requests from game designers and seek out community feedback on economy balance
  • Work with the team to improve tools, methods, and task management
  • Provide constructive feedback and solutions for existing and upcoming designs to optimize workloads and achieve quality

Preferred experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Design or Economics OR the equivalent from professional experience in the game industry
  • 2+ years experience as a Game Economy Designer with a focus on game balance and F2P monetization systems
  • 1+ shipped game project(s)
  • Extensive up-to-date knowledge of the free-to-play AAA market
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
  • Skilled at sharing knowledge with others (through tutorials, training sessions, wiki, etc.)
  • Desire to grow professionally with networking and ongoing training opportunities

Also nice to have:

  • Experience scripting in Unreal 4 (Blueprints)
  • Other scripting languages / visual scripting / engines
  • Interest in personal development and productivity topics
  • Passion for games, and in particular virtual worlds and online experiences
  • Experience implementing multiplayer online features
