As part of an initial 6-month part-time mission (freelance, from October 2021 to February 2022), we are looking for a candidate for the position of #LearningPlanet Senior Editorial Advisor.

Attached to the #LearningPlanet team, working closely with the #LP Chief Operating Officer and with the Editorial Project Manager, the Senior Editorial Advisor has the following missions:

Your core missions:

The design and preparation phase (October-December 2021):

Co-design of the digital editorial line of the #LearningPlanet initiative (website and other related communication supports such as newsletter, social media campaigns):
Strategic advice regarding the editorial positioning (benchmark, analysis of the community needs, priorities and assets, selection of topical issues, etc.);
Proposal of a series of online editorial formats to be developed in close collaboration with the #LP Community;
Operational advice for the animation of an international network of regular contributors: educators, leaders, researchers, students, journalists & youth journalists, essayists, etc.

Strategic management and operational implementation (December 2021-March 2022):

Definition of operational editorial guidelines, within the framework of the objectives set and while ensuring compliance with cost, deadline and quality requirements (e.g.: weekly/monthly working/publication schedule).

Initial supervision of the publications of the first contents created/written by the Editorial Project Manager and/or directly by contributors from the #LP community, such as:
News & Stories from the #LearningPlanet international community;
Articles presenting exemplary learning communities and initiatives;
Interviews & podcasts of key stakeholders, educators, students, etc.

Possible complementary missions:

Writing and editing of selected editorial content on the #LearningPlanet English website:
Monthly Op Eds,
Synthetic introduction to series of thematic publications;
Interviews with leading figures of the #LP Community.

Conception and coordination of tailor-made and highly participative editorial projects around selected #LP key programmes (#LearningPlanet Festival, Open Pantheon, etc.).


Preferred experience

Key skills:

You have more than 10 years of experience as a journalist and/or editor in chief in the online media, and you are used to interacting with numerous interlocutors from different cultures:

  • Proven ability to design a digital editorial strategy to optimize information sharing within a complex ecosystem;
  • Mastery of the latest online publishing strategies and tools;
  • Expertise in community management (e.g.: animation of communities of benevolent authors and contributors).
  • Ability to write high quality online content for different audiences (educators, researchers, students, etc.) in a multicultural context;
  • Perfect command of English (native English/bilingual), flawless oral expression and excellent writing skills, allowing to address different complex areas related to the initiative: education, innovation, sustainable development goals, public policies, etc.
