As part of the Talent & Organization team, the HR Business Partner will be key in the high growth of our Engineering & Product teams by providing full-cycle human resources partnering on a daily basis to our managers and team members. Your main responsibility will be to implement BlaBlaCar HR policies (e.g., salary review, equity programs, internal and external training and development, hiring planning and strategy, succession planning, remote policy), and you will also lead specific programs that will increase BlaBlaCar’s ability to attract, retain and engage team members in your scope.

You’ll be instrumental in scaling the engineering organization by doubling the number of engineers in a year and by keeping our retention rate at its current level. The role is both a strategic and hands-on role including supporting the 130 staff members, by contributing into organization effectiveness & design, providing management coaching and driving HR functional excellence on your scope. You will assist Managers in building efficient HR processes. You will contribute to fostering engineers’ engagement and adherence to the company’s culture. You will be a part of a fun, passionate and dynamic global People team, with whom you’ll work very closely to deliver ambitious People-related projects, policies and value.

We are seeking an experienced HR business partner who can effectively interact with business leaders and managers at all levels, possesses excellent self-organization and communication skills, demonstrates a solid experience in talent development and loves embracing a tech and fast-paced environment.

What you will directly contribute to:
1 - Support 130 team members and managers on a high-growth scope :

Provide guidance to managers on their own team management and organizational and HR-related topics (ex : ensure efficient organization implementation, change management, daily support in our various HR policies’ application). You lead scope-specific initiatives by collaborating closely with managers in order to better attract, develop and retain talents.

  • Support our team members : you are the main HR point of contact of our Engineering & Product team members to better inform and advise them. You are an essential relay of internal communication to better involve and bring together our teams. Because you’re close to our teams, you have an accurate feeling of our internal climate on your scope and to be proactive in suggesting plans. You make sure there is a good coordination of HR-related subjects between managers and team members and other People team members : Operations, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation & Benefits, Engagement team.

2 - Talent management & development of our Engineering & Product teams

  • For every HR-policy you act as an ambassador of our policies, processes and tools to boost our talent development :
  • In collaboration with our Talent Development Manager, build and deliver a promising internal academy for Engineering team members to help them develop their technical hard but also soft skills.
  • Coach managers in their daily team management : feedback culture development, situation-handling, OKR definition and performance assessment, individual talent development guidance and advisory.
  • Provide guidance to our managers and team members in understanding, and taking up our policy philosophy, strategy and tools (ex : hiring, levels, performance, compensation & benefits, remote).
  • Drive Performance review campaigns and talent / people review cycles on your scope.

3 - HR Performance management

  • Build a dedicated Engineering & Product HR dashboard, analyze trends and use metrics to develop solutions, programs and best practices.
  • You’ll participate into Tech Management team meetings.
  • This position will initiate and lead projects in areas including: benefits, training, HR processes and systems.
  • You actively participate into new People programs, boosting our Engineering & Product Talent acquisition and engagement.
  • Ensuring consistency, communication and collaboration in a matrixed and global environment.

Preferred experience

What you will need to be successful

  • Several years of experience in an HR leadership or HRBP role with broad knowledge and experience in human resource management.
  • HR Experience dealing with large teams of engineers, you are familiar with basic concepts, semantic and issues specific to this population ; a minimum of 3 years of HR experience in a high tech environment.
  • Broad experience and specific knowledge of human resource theory, in Talent management and development such as HR compensation plan, management, assessing management and executive talent, employee relations and performance appraisal systems.
  • Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees at all levels in the organization.
  • A strong ability to diagnose problems both in a qualitative but also data-driven approach, using strategic thinking skills as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions.
  • Be humble, structured, organized, motivated by innovation and a relentless doer.
  • Enjoy working as a team-player and learning from others.
