Back Market is looking for an experienced Agile Coach with a solid understanding of DevOps and what Agile Excellence means in terms of day-to-day practices for the individual developer in a scaling Tech organization. As an Agile Coach, you will be instrumental in our quest to amplify developer experience, software quality, and delivery across the entire organization. 

You will be working in an agile "build it and run it" environment where engineering teams build, launch, monitor and support the product that they own. You will be a part of the Tech Staff and Operations team, reporting to the Chief of Staff

We are looking for someone with a passion for creating a sustainable environment, both through process ownership and by contributing to the overall success of Back Market, as well as a good team player supporting colleagues and creating a learning and sharing environment!

Your mission (If you accept it): 🏅

  • Help the Tech organization define and roll out a new Software Development Lifecycle/Way of Working that puts an emphasis on quality, reliability and maintainability.
  • Evangelize and teach both basic and advanced Agile concepts inside the organization, and help others improve their own ways of working as well as their understanding of the purpose of Agile.
  • Provide hands-on support to engineering teams for setting up effective Agile Ways of Working. 
  • Help the broader tech organization identify and address systemic challenges related to the processes used for prioritization, planning, software development, delivery, and professional development.
  • On occasion, plan and facilitate larger collaborative efforts like conferences, meetings and workshops for leaders in the Tech organization.
  • Partner with the CTO and the other Tech Leads on identifying and addressing systemic issues in our Ways of Working with software.

  • You can effectively coach leaders, teams and individuals in Agile principles, software delivery and teamworking skills.
  • You have experience from working with engineering leaders and senior developers, and are comfortable having conversations about software, continuous delivery, and long term technical strategies.
  • You are willing to experiment, fail and innovate in finding how to effectively work together in an organization that grows quickly.
  • You can identify underlying mechanics when analyzing problems and reframe them to find new solutions. 
  • You are comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity and can work your way through it.
  • You actively ask for feedback and use it to develop. You also give your feedback, with insight and empathy, to individuals and teams around you.
  • You have a “can do” attitude and willingness to work autonomously, solving any problems needed to help the organization move forward
  • You have great verbal and written communication skills. English is a requirement, French is a plus
