General context

The U.S. Health and Protection market is a strategic focus for the AXA Group.  As an offshore reinsurer, AXA France Vie offers flexible reinsurance risk solutions to US players. Working closely with its reinsurer intermediary manager AXA Life & Health Re Solutions US, we combine our expertise to partner with new players reshaping the healthcare industry (Insurtechs, MGAs/MGUs…) to make healthcare affordable for Americans. We also leverage the larger AXA ecosystem, under the One AXA approach, to support innovative solutions and provide value-added services, working alongside the different AXA entities present in the U.S. Healthcare space (venture capital, innovation center, assistance, (re)insurance…).

 

This is an opportunity to join a seasoned and dynamic department, with strong international exposure and ambitious growth prospects, with a GWP growing from 300m in 2019 to 2 billion in 2022.

Working transversally with both the AXA France teams and the US team, you will contribute to the scale-up of AXA’s Health activities in the US market, supporting the company’s strategic direction and reinsurance partnerships operations.

Key Missions

US Partnerships Operations :

·        Creating the link between AXA France and the US team. Your main goal is to ensure AXA France is “easy to work with” for our US clients 

·        Ensuring regulatory, client expectations and SLAs are respected across all events of the contract and suggesting process improvements and ‘best practices’ in order to increase our quality of service

·        Becoming internally the privileged point of contact for AXA teams, capitalizing on your comprehensive and detailed understanding of the partnerships under your responsibility and on your proactive coordination of partnership events and milestones

·        Overseeing the smooth execution of reinsurance partnerships operational implementation and execution (quarterly balance review, execution of financial and administrative flows)

Contribute to the execution of our diversification Strategy: 

·        Develop in-depth knowledge of target partners, competitive landscape, and emerging trends in the healthcare industry, to identify opportunities and unlock access to new profit pool

·        Contribute to the implementation of ALHRS US’ diversification strategy, to build strategic alliances with partners beyond risk transfer and differentiate from legacy Health reinsurance competitors.

·        Contribute to the due diligence phase in the case of a potential partnership / RFP

Reporting to the Local Solutions Head of Underwriting, this role will involve a high degree of transversal exposure and will draw on both project management and soft skills. This role is scalable and may include new assignments as AXA's business in this market develops


Preferred experience

Education & Experience:

·        Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in business, economics, finance, or related fields.

·        At least 5 years of professional experience in project management in relevant industries

·        Previous experience in (re)insurance with a good understanding of health & protection market is a plus

·        Prior international professional exposure, with strong awareness of multicultural management stakes is a plus 

Technical skills: 

·        Strong project management skills with attention to detail, effective time management, prioritization, benchmarking.

·        Dynamic and engaging critical thinking, ability to think out of the box and capture the big picture.

·        Commercial awareness, using analytics for business needs.

·        Demonstrates cross-functional awareness to successfully partner and work with internal and external stakeholders in all disciplines, with an ability to maneuver through challenging situations.  

Interpersonal skills:

·        Recognized for your interpersonal skills and your ability to communicate / interact with partners and to federate internal stakeholders.

·        Strong written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills

·        Pragmatic decision maker with analytical and reasoning skills
