Content SEO Manager - Content 

 

Reports to 

Senior Account Manager/ Account Director

Role purpose

You will be responsible for managing the content strategy for a number of clients across a wide range of industries. You will conduct research on and implement the strategy yourself, as well as delegate to SEO Executives and Senior SEO Executives. You will work within the wider SEO team, delegating work effectively to ensure it is always of the highest possible standard and to ensure client retention and satisfaction. 

Main responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and execute content strategies for multiple clients to ensure set objectives are met.
  • Research audiences, SERPs, competitors and keywords to create a content strategy that will drive quality traffic for clients.
  • Create high-quality content and on-page optimisations in line with strategy to increase the quantity of traffic for clients.
  • Supervise the content work delivered by executives and senior executives on your accounts whilst actively mentoring and developing the skills of colleagues.
  • Liaise with regional teams to ensure content strategy is executed across international client sites.
  • Monitor campaign performance and report on these regularly to the account director and the client.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with clients, building and maintaining strong working relationships so that they trust and value your opinions.

Skills required

Essential

  • Three years’ SEO agency experience 
  • Experience with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, aHREFs, Keyword Planner, Answer the Public and Google Trends.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google and Bing Search Console and SEO performance measurement using these tools.
  • Excellent understanding of, and a passion for, content marketing (onsite editorial strategy, digital PR, or influencer marketing). Record of applying this knowledge to achieve results for clients.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating and executing effective content strategies. 
  • Experience in presenting to clients, running content workshops and leading relevant content meetings. 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong client management skills with the proven ability to add value to clients.
  • Strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.

Desirable

  • Management experience.
  • Project management and campaign leadership skills, with experience of managing budgets, estimates and schedules.
  • Awareness of and active integration with other digital channels such as PPC, Display and UX.
  • Good understanding of all pillars of SEO and how they can be used in tandem to achieve growth for clients.
