At Bridge Base Online we are growing very fast. With operations in Europe and North America, Bridge Base Online (bridgebase.com) is the largest bridge club in the world. At any time of the day, thousands of players enjoy casual bridge with friends, practice their skills against robots, or play in serious competition.
We’re looking to add a Senior System Administrator to our operations team to ensure the 24×7 uptime of our operations while helping migrate legacy systems to a modern architecture.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain and monitor system availability and performance for a loosely connected cluster of about 100 machines
• Lead a migration to AWS
• Manage system security
• Maintain system components
• Debian machines
• MySQL databases, some using primary/replica architecture
• Haproxy Load balancers and proxies
• Nginx web servers
• Network architecture at current/future providers
• DNS
• Icinga
• Create and maintain appropriate backups
• Create and manage a disaster recovery process

Required Qualifications

• Strong SysAdmin experience
• 3+ years working in an AWS environment; system migration experience a plus
• Experienced with Debian, Nginx, MySQL, Haproxy
• Experience with modern SDLC/SRE/DevOps practices
• Passionate and always wanting to go the extra mile
• Fluency in English
• Bonus Points
• Industry experience with real-time card game platforms
• Seasoned JIRA and Confluence user
• Enjoys trick-taking card games; bridge player a plus!
• Fluency in French

You will report to the Development Manager.
