Big Data
Our take
The digitisation of emergency response organisations, data and incident reporting is speeding up, but this presents a problem if this information is not digestible. Emergency responders must be able to quickly translate and understand information as it comes in, or risk this faster flow of data being made redundant. Peregrine is a data integration platform that improves emergency responses by making data more accessible, understandable and actionable. The platform can be used for public safety at different scales, such as building, city or region-wide. Its machine learning capabilities are also able to collate raw surveillance data, linking people, places and events to track targets or potential criminal activity. With a founding team that boasts experience in both security and environmental risk analysis, Peregrine shows the potential to bridge the gap between tech and law enforcement. And funding is being channelled into accelerating the company's growth as it looks to double its employee headcount in the near future.
You'll be working on
- As a Staff Product Designer at Peregrine, you’ll help set the design direction for how public safety teams work with data
- Understanding our users is core to this role, so you’ll have ample opportunities to see Peregrine in the field and bring those insights back to shape the roadmap
- You’ll partner with Design, Engineering, and Product leadership to define the digital renaissance of public safety and delight users who seldom get to use outstanding software, transforming complex, data-dense workflows into intuitive solutions
- We’re looking for a deeply curious and inventive Staff Product Designer to lead the design of end-to-end experiences across a vast data platform
- You’ll move fluidly from research and problem framing to strategy to the craft and finish of every detail, and you’ll raise the bar for the designers around you
- Lead our most ambitious design initiatives, from problem definition through launch, to deliver a well-executed and highly polished product that will delight users
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence across Design, Engineering and Business Development teams, defining scope and prioritization to ensure high-quality outcomes
- Lead and elevate design critiques with the Design and Leadership teams
- Partner with leadership to define the product strategy and craft a compelling narrative that inspires team members toward a unified outcome
- Mentor other designers and help grow the Design discipline in a company that values exceptional user experience, including shaping our design systems, asset library, and the practices that define how we work
