Climate Strategy Expert / Project Manager Greenly

🌱 About us

Greenly was founded in 2019 by Alexis, Matthieu and Arnaud with one mission: make carbon management as essential as financial management. In 2026, Greenly joined forces with the Nordic-founded company Normative.

Today, we are a global leader in carbon accounting, proudly B-Corp certified and part of the French Tech 120. Our climate suite combines smart data collection with intuitive automation, helping companies measure, reduce, and report their emissions with ease — supported at every step by our in-house climate experts. 💚

More than 4,000 companies in 30+ countries use Greenly to manage their climate strategy: from carbon assessments and life-cycle analyses to SBTi trajectories and compliance with CSRD and CBAM.

We are now a team of 200+ people from 40+ nationalities, based in Paris, London, Barcelona, and New York. 🌎

To date, we’ve tracked over 200 million tons of CO₂ through our platform. Our next milestone: 10,000 clients and one billion tons of CO2 under management.

🌱 Our Values

• Ambition for climate: Minimize GHG emissions, maximize climate impact

• Deliver with agility: Work in small increments: fail fast, learn fast, win fast

• Own your opportunities: Achieve outstanding results by showing initiative and accountability

• Feedback paves the way: Succeed as a team by helping others progress

🌱  About the team

You'll join Greenly's Scale team, within our Climate Delivery organization — the team that makes Greenly's climate expertise efficient and accessible for all of our customers. We guide SMB & mid-market customers through their most strategic climate and sustainability challenges. 🤝

As a Climate Strategy Expert in the Scale team, our mission is simple: be the expert voice that makes ESG assessments rigorous, simple, and scalable. Concretely, we deliver high-quality climate projects — carbon assessments, life-cycle analyses (LCA), SBTi trajectories, CSRD support — and we also turn that expertise into clear playbooks and product improvements so the whole team can scale without losing quality. ⚙️

As a team, we:

• Combine analytical rigor with a strong customer success mindset

• Act as trusted advisors, not just technical analysts

• Thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment, sharing methods, scripts, and lessons learned

• Work closely with Customer Support, Customer Success Managers, Product, Sales, and Marketing to ensure our clients succeed and our methodologies stay robust 💡

It's one of Greenly's most influential client-facing teams: high expectations, high volume, and real impact on both client outcomes and product evolution. 🌍

🌱 About the role

Our Scale team is searching for a mission-driven Climate Strategy Expert who's passionate about supporting our customers with climate advisory while owning their post-sale experience. You'll combine hands-on delivery of climate expertise with account ownership — and, as you grow in the role, you'll also help turn recurring technical questions into playbooks and product feedback that make the whole team more efficient and our delivery more scalable. You'll be a key player in turning climate ambition into action, one customer at a time.

What you will do

• 🤝 You are the trusted person for our customers, with whom you'll build long-term relationships

• 💡 You understand the customers' carbon footprints and are a thought leader that educates them on carbon measurement, target setting, carbon reduction, and carbon investments. You guide their path towards a net-zero future.

• 📣 You are the voice of our customers; the connection between them and our product, where you help shape the future in a fast-changing industry.

• ✨ You help our customers understand and navigate our product; you onboard them on the platform and drive interest for additional product and service offerings. This will accelerate their journey towards net-zero carbon emissions.

• 📈 You are proactive in customer initiatives leading to high satisfaction, retention and growth.

• 🔍 You identify upsell and expansion opportunities in your book of business.

• 📚 You contribute to building clear rules, playbooks and cheat sheets so the wider team can handle recurring topics independently.

• 🔁 You flag recurring technical pain points to Product, helping turn manual work into platform features.

🌱 Skills to succeed

• 2–4 years of experience in customer success, climate consulting, ESG strategy, or account management, with at least one year of experience in carbon accounting. 📊

• Understanding of corporate sustainability and climate frameworks (e.g. SBTi, GHG Protocol). 🌍

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. 🤝

• Educational background within the sustainability or environmental field. 🌱

• Ability to translate complex technical findings into simple, actionable guidance for both clients and internal teams. 🧩

• Comfort balancing hands-on client delivery with process-improvement or standardization projects. ⚖️

• Drive to learn and grow with a fast-moving mission-led team. ⚡️

• Full fluency in English 🇬🇧 is required.

Nice to have

• Comfortable managing US-based customers (time zones, communication style, business culture) 🇺🇸

• Spanish-fluency is a plus 🇪🇸

• French is not mandatory if you speak another relevant language such as Spanish or Italian 🇮🇹

Bonus qualities that will make you shine

We're looking for someone who will not just fit in, but help us level up. Here's what stands out:

• Systems Thinker ⚙️: You can connect the dots between policy, data, and business goals. Show us in the interview how you'd advise a fictional B2B company on setting a climate target.

• Curious & Coachable 🧠: You actively seek feedback and apply it fast. In the interview, be ready to reflect on a learning moment that changed how you work.

• Mission-Driven Communicator 📣: You can talk to sustainability leaders and procurement pros alike. Expect a roleplay task to test how you adapt messaging.

• Proactive Collaborator 🤝: You spot opportunities to improve team workflows or customer processes. Bring a story where you took initiative without being asked.

• Pipeline-Minded Operator 📊: You're comfortable managing a sizeable portfolio of clients in parallel while keeping an eye on industrialization — turning what you learn across your pipeline into reusable playbooks and process or product improvements, rather than treating every deal as a one-off. Bring an example of how you balanced volume with continuous improvement.
