Sales Team Manager (Inbound) Funding Circle

We’re on a mission to back the UK’s small businesses like no one else 🚀

Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and we’re here to help them win. We’ve built a platform that uses clever data to get them the funding they need in minutes, not weeks.

At Funding Circle, we have the restless energy of a fintech start-up with the stability of a public company. It’s a unique mix that gives Circlers the autonomy to take ownership and the scale to make an impact that truly counts.

We’re a high-performing team that chooses to lift each other up. We challenge, we champion, and we have each other’s backs - because we know that when we stand together, we move faster and build better.

The impact is real: Last year alone, the businesses on our platform generated £7.2bn for the UK economy 📈 Come and join a mission that matters!

We’re looking for a hands-on Sales Manager to lead, coach, and scale our Inbound sales team. You’ll be responsible for driving conversion, optimising processes, managing daily floor performance and more.

What you'll do:

• Motivate and performance-manage your team to consistently achieve individual and collective targets

• Use metrics and funnel analytics to run tailored 1:1s and build individual development plans for your direct reports

• Be an active floor presence - coaching through live call shadowing, role-playing, objection handling, and setting short, medium, and long-term performance goals

• Analyse performance data, conversion metrics and trends to design, implement, and iterate high-impact sales strategies and design new and better processes

• Leading the implementation of continuous improvement to drive the team forward

• Proactively identify ways to use Generative AI tools and modern sales software to cut manual admin and streamline daily workflows

• Act as a key point of contact for other departments within Funding Circle, leading the development and rollout of new initiatives

• Use CRM dashboards and sales analytics to track team performance and present actionable pipeline insights to leadership

• Champion best-practice initiatives and ensure internal controls and policies are adhered to across the floor

• Maintain active involvement in interviewing and running the day-to-day onboarding for new hires

What we’re looking for 🌱

We value deep expertise, but a growth mindset and good energy are what really make our team click. We’re a group that chooses to lift each other up and think smart every day.

• Proven experience in a high-volume sales leadership or senior player-coach role

• Skilled at analysing conversion metrics, call data, and performance trends to build, test, and implement successful sales strategies

• Proactive and eager to bring new ideas to drive the performance of your team

• Always looking for a "better way" to optimise processes and drive continuous improvement

• Confident using Generative AI and modern sales tools daily to automate workflows, and drive team productivity

• A strong relationship builder internally and externally with excellent cross-functional collaboration skills

We’re building a place where everyone truly feels they belong. Even if your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every requirement, we'd still love to hear from you.
