Current is a neobank offering digital banking services, with a focus on younger generations and paycheck-to-paycheck customers. It offers a swathe of innovative services including on-demand pay and overdraft protection to people underserved by traditional institutions. Younger customers are expected in the coming years to pivot from legacy institutions to the higher functionality and lower costs of consumer-first neobanks like Current. By netting an average customer age of 27, Current is establishing itself as a pack leader among rival but less well-funded neobanks like Step or Till. It is also successfully competing with legacy institutions by exploiting the relatively adaptive nature of neobanking. Current has previously offered customers advanced access to stimulus checks, and is seeking to expand into crypto. The company continues to raise funding which supports its continued growth and an accelerated path to profitability.
You'll be working on
- We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to curate and scale the design language that powers our product experience
- You’ll own the system from foundational tokens and components to documentation and adoption across teams
- You will also be responsible for owning the user experience for at least one other primary product area in our customer banking UI (new user onboarding, payments, liquidity features, etc)
- Design, maintain, and evolve our component library and design tokens (color, typography, spacing)
- Partner with engineering to ensure components are built to spec and stay in sync across Figma and in-app implementation
- Establish and document usage guidelines, accessibility standards, and contribution processes so other teams can adopt and extend the system confidently
- Audit existing product surfaces for inconsistencies and lead consolidation efforts with clear prioritization
- Own end-to-end UX for one of our primary banking workflows, from discovery through shipped iteration
- Partner with product managers to ensure product features align with both user needs and strategic business initiatives
- Collaborate with product designers to give regular feedback on in-app design iteration

We're looking for
- Excellent cross-functional communication and documentation skills
- Familiarity with native mobile design fundamentals for iOS and Android (Swift UI / Jetpack Compose patterns)
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Strong proficiency in Figma (variables, component architecture, auto-layout)
- Experience with design token pipelines and tooling (Style Dictionary, Token Studio)
- Knowledge of AI best practices in design system maintenance
- 6+ years in product design, with 2+ years focused on design systems
- Experience using AI-assisted design workflows day to day (AI prototyping tools, refining designs with LLM-based assistants, or AI design audits)
- Familiarity with design-to-code workflows and tooling such as Figma Code Connect, MCP-based integrations, or agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc)
