Job description

Join us in this exciting role and support our growing and fantastic finance department as an additional Corporate Finance Specialist.

You can expect challenging tasks in a great environment and collegial cooperation. We stay agile with different and fast-changing topics in a dynamic environment.

Your place of work can be either Zurich Oerlikon or Flamatt (between Fribourg and Bern) as well as your own place at home, thanks to our truly hybrid work setup.

About the Position

  • You will play a distinct role in the Group Finance function of SMG and contribute to our overall success
  • You will be responsible for the Impairment Testing in accordance with IFRS (IAS 36)
  • You will play an active role in restructuring projects (e.g. mergers) and the management of SMG’s subsidiaries
  • You will manage specific finance project activities in areas such as I/C relationships, funding, loans
  • You will support strategic decisions by elaborating business cases together with the business, being responsible for the financial perspective (Financial Modelling) and preparing reports for the top management
  • You will support SMG in the Post-Merger Integration, taking ownership of the setup of processes within the group finance department
  • You will take over a supporting role in the enterprise risk management process, tax-related topics, M&A projects, and the preparation of the IPO process of Swiss Marketplace Group
  • You sign responsible for the technically correct and timely execution of your tasks as outlined above including the accuracy of the business data in terms of form and content
  • Your stakeholders will range from the CFO and our executive leadership team to FP&A, Accounting, Corporate Development, Legal and HR departments
  • This role involves close interactions with the SMG Board, Shareholders’ Finance, Legal, and M&A teams as well as external Tax Advisors

Preferred experience

About You

  • +3-5 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Controlling, Accounting (Consulting), and/or Transaction Services
  • You hold a Degree in Business Administration with a focus on finance (Uni / FH)
  • Solid financial knowhow and understanding of accounting standards (Swiss Code of Obligations, IFRS), basic Swiss Tax and Legal knowledge are a bonus
  • Professional experience in business modelling and valuation of projects and companies advantageous
  • Additionally, you might be a Certified public accountant or a Chartered Expert in Financial and Managerial Accounting and Reporting
  • You are proficient in the use of G-Suite/ MS Office tools (especially Excel and Powerpoint)
  • You communicate fluently in German and English, with French as an appreciated bonus
  • You have professional experience in transformational processes and are flexible and open to new ideas
  • You possess a responsible, very independent, fast and precise way of working
  • You are a strong communicator and have exceptional conceptualisation skills
  • You are goal- and results-oriented with a strong customer-centric approach (internal/external)
