Job description

Your daily work:

As an Operations Manager, you play a crucial role in the flawless flow of our business. You are responsible for the completion and repayment of all Dutch financing projects. Also, you are involved in cross border projects as part of the European Ops Team. Your main missions will include but won’t be limited to:


  • Perform rigorous quality checks: reconciliation of loan documents and internal system data for completeness and accuracy. Facilitate resolution of discrepancies
  • Once the offer has been accepted by the borrower, lead the closing of all projects in the Netherlands, including
  • Create the contract documents for all approved projects and manage these from creation till full repayment
  • Guide borrowers through the process of accepting, signing and completing all documentation
  • Ensure readiness for online publishing of projects
  • Supervise funding and proper disbursement of funds to Borrowers
  • Management of borrowers’ contracts throughout the loan life cycle
  • Make strategic recommendations: provide input and help design process improvements on operations procedures and management
  • KYC/AML: analysis of the capital structure of borrowers, identification and verification of beneficial owners, analysis of risk factors and validation of the level of AML risk.


  • Implement and strengthen local Fraud Prevention systems in coordination with other Operations managers and COO
  • Identify and model fraud risks and update procedures
  • Increase awareness and train employees on the fight against internal and external fraud
  • Actively look into potential clients for discrepancies and possible fraud 


  • Monitor Borrowers’ timely monthly repayments
  • Leading the local collections/recovery actions incl. judicial proceedings in coordination with the Credit team and COO, in case of incidents / defaults


  • Expand the Dutch Operations team in line with the growth of the business
  • Reporting
  • Definition and implementation of KPIs and SLAs
  • Foster a workplace culture that is consistent with our Mission and Values (above): support a spirit of teamwork and unity among our team that is empowered by metrics thus fostering innovation and generating resultsorks closely with the other countries’ Operations Manager as well as local Sales and Credit teams.

This role is key to the overall success of October and reports directly to the CEO of October Nederland and the Head of Customer Operations, works closely with the other countries’ Operations Manager as well as local Sales and Credit teams.

Preferred experience

Desired experience:

  • 5 - 7 years of work experience in financial operations, recovery, compliance and/or anti-fraud

Knowledge and skills:

  • Dutch is required to a near-native level, English minimum C1
  • University profile / Business School with banking or finance speciality or Applied Science legal training with operations experience
  • Dutch banking regulation, operations and recovery incl legal aspects experience
  • Lending products knowledge
  • Good communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity environment in which you will be required to manage several concurrent tasks and responsibilities
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills for carrying out cross-functional projects with stakeholders across the company
  • Proficiency with MS Office ans SalesForce (not mandatory)
