Your mission in the team:

As an Accountant, you will be joining the Finance Team of Luko Insurance AG, to support the financial reporting according to German GAAP (HGB) and Solvency II. In this role, you will:

• take over co-responsibility for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including general and (perspectively) insurance-related Accounting topics
• process supplier invoices and related cash payments including reconciliations and related journal entries in SAP
• prepare monthly value added tax (VAT) declarations as well as other statistical information (e.g. reportings to German central bank)
• support the continuous development and optimization of accounting processes and platforms in cooperation with IT and other stakeholders

Who are you?

• Higher education in Business Administration, Accounting or other finance related subjects
• Previous relevant experience in accounting, finance, audit (external accounting/audit firm or within a finance team);
• Previous experience in the insurance industry is a plus;
• Good knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and willingness to learn other accounting frameworks (insurance technical accounting, IFRS, Solvency II)
• Curiosity, optimism, achiever mindset & interested in start-up ecosystem
• Advanced Skills in MS Office or Google Suite, previous experience with SAP FI is a plus
• Fluency in German and English
