PCB designer

Our Roztoky Eaton European Innovation Center was established in 2012 and is one of five global innovation centers around the world. It is a young, very lively facility, focused primarily on innovation in the area of electrical, automotive, hydraulic, software and aerospace applications. . Our goal is to develop and implement new solutions in the field of industrial automation, vehicle propulsion systems, power distribution, hydraulics and uninterruptible IT power supplies. We also focus increasingly on the electrification of mechanically and hydraulically operated systems.

Eaton is looking for an experienced PCB designer to create PCB Layout cooperation with a HW developer. You will be responsible for participating in requirements analysis, designing reviews and other team development processes. The position is located at Eaton European Innovation Center in Prague (EEIC), Czech Republic. In this role the person will be responsible for keeping abreast of new and emerging technologies and communication with production facilities, solving EQs, PCB ordering process.

Your main responsibilities:

• Generate schematics based on a draft in CAE and develop missing symbols and footprints.
• Define clearance and creepage distances.
• Specify PCB contour through regular communication, cooperation and coordination with an MCAD designer and a HW developer.
• Create Layout considering normative requirements, standards and production specification circumstances and EMC aspects.
• Setting electric constraints by CES, stackup planning.
• Provide and prepare the necessary product and production documentation.
• Ordering of prototype material (electronic/mechanical components and PCB’s)

Your essential skills we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s/MSc. degree qualification in electrical engineering
• Work experience as PCB layout engineer
• Knowledge of EMC problematics in a practical way
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, assembling, soldering and testing process of electronic modules
• Knowledge and application of IPC design rules
• Knowledge of design practices with respect SI/PI
• English at professional level
