Position summary

We are a united and dynamic Finance team of 8 people, and we are looking for a candidate willing to develop and grow our global Finance operations as DNA Script is undergoing its transformation from an R&D to a commercial company.

As Finance Ops Manager, you will lead the team responsible to produce DNA Script’s financial data, in a timely and reliable manner.

Your role will lie on 3 key areas including the creation or automatization of processes within the team and in relation with the rest of the company, the supervision of those processes through the management of our accountants and finally the definition of key and strategic accounting treatments for DNA Script.

To be a successful candidate, you should not only be passionate about accounting and finance but also be a data-driven and system-oriented person. You will be based in our Paris Office, manage our accountants in France and in the US and will report to Thibaut, our current Finance Associate Director.

In this role, you will

• Be responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of the Finance team processes including:
• Reducing our month end close process to a D+5 standard
• Implementation of consolidation accounting
• Internalization of the analytical accounting within the Finance Ops team (currently FP&A team)
• Strengthening internal control and increasing efficiency on our daily processes
• Propose and implement new automated tools hand in hand with IT integrators including for example:
• Automatizing our consolidation process within our ERP, NetSuite
• Automatizing A/P for example through implementation of character recognition tools for Bill entry
• Integration of complex accounting treatments such as Leasing, Pensions or Employee Equity Award valuation within our ERP or IT tools
• Manage our growing Accounting team of 4 accountants based in France and in the US
• Create adhesion around the team projects and ensure understanding of the team objectives
• Assign responsibilities within the team and design inspiring professional development plan for its members
• Manage growth of the team both in size and geography
• Ensure the accurate definition and implementation of accounting policies through a wide range of topic including revenue recognition, inventory valuation or implementation of US GAAP. In particular you should be able to:
• Read and analyze accounting implications of new contracts, activities or events
• Formulate and propose an accounting treatment by going through the relevant GAAP and analyzing positions taken by peers
• Document your position in Memos and defend it in front of the Company Management, its Investors and its Auditors

Key Qualifications/Experience

• You have a Master's degree or equivalent in business, finance, accounting or related field. DSCG Diploma is a plus
• You have preferably 3-5 years of professional experience. Previous audit, consulting or investment banking experience is a plus
• You should recognize yourself in the following key words: process, automatization, scalability and efficiency
• You are autonomous, dynamic, able to think out of the box and to propose new solutions. In brief, you define yourself as a builder
• You can work and manage an international team in French and in English
• Excel wizard, experience with NetSuite is a plus
