At Bridge Base Online we are growing very fast. With operations in Europe and North America, Bridge Base Online (bridgebase.com) is the largest bridge club in the world. At any time of the day, thousands of players enjoy casual bridge with friends, practice their skills against robots, or play in serious competition.
We are looking for a strong C developer who can help us design, build and optimize our server components in accordance with SDLC best practices. This role is key in supporting our operations team achieve a 24×7 uptime while also helping migrate legacy systems to a modern architecture.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead the development of our C-based server code: drive design discussions; execute development against design; monitor testing, debugging, and documenting efforts
• Drive digital innovation by leveraging innovative new technologies and approaches to renovate, extend, and transform the existing core technology
• Participate in implementing enterprise standards across domains: operations, infrastructure, data, applications, development, security & risk, and business continuance
• Provide technical clarity between ongoing projects and the strategic objectives of the company
• Advise team members in software development principles, patterns, processes and practices

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of C programming experience in a Linux/GCC production environment
• Experience writing, debugging, and testing
• Strong knowledge of network I/O and threading
• Familiarity with the latest Agile/Scrum/SDLC management tools and processes
• Comfortable working with an existing body of legacy code
• Strong ability to communicate with a remote team
• Passionate and always wanting to go the extra mile
• Fluency in English
• Bonus Points
• Industry experience with real-time card game platforms
• Seasoned JIRA and Confluence user
• Enjoys trick-taking card games; bridge player a plus!
• Fluency in French

You will report to the Development Manager.
