We are looking for an experienced Localization Manager to join us on a freelance basis. This is a 3 month, full-time role focused on building and improving our localization infrastructure and processes. If the collaboration is successful, it may be extended into a long-term engagement at 1–2 days per week to support ongoing operations.
This is a remote-friendly position, but occasional travel to our Paris office will be required.
Streamline and refactor localization keys across the product to ensure clarity, consistency, and maintainability.
Conduct linguistic and functional QA on localized content across all platforms to ensure excellence in execution.
Define and document tone, terminology, and linguistic standards to be used by internal teams and external translators.
Design and implement scalable localization processes and write clear documentation to support smooth operations and onboarding.
Consolidate and clean up translation memory, legacy strings, and localization data for consistency and usability.
Manage and continuously improve AI-assisted translation and localization tools in collaboration with internal teams.
Serve as the primary contact for our translation system vendor, and coordinate with native translators via internal tools (e.g., Slack, Notion).
Create clear, actionable documents covering localization best practices, workflows, and use cases.
Familiarity with Lokalise or a similar platform is a must!
Experience tracking and reporting localization performance metrics like quality scores, turnaround time (TAT), and content coverage.
Comfortable partnering with product, engineering, support, and marketing teams to ensure localization is integrated into all relevant workflows.
Proven track record in building a localization processes and owning localization management, preferably in a startup environment.
Strong technical background, preferably as an engineer, or ability to work closely with engineering teams.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Deep understanding of brand identity and the ability to maintain consistency across cultures.
Tooling Experience
Familiarity with Lokalise or a similar platform.
